GateHop Privacy Policy

1. Privacy by Design (Client-Side Architecture)

GateHop was created with a fundamental principle: utility applications for travel should never spy on where you are going or when you are flying. GateHop operates entirely on your device's browser. We run no database servers to store user accounts, itineraries, or search queries.

2. Local Storage (What Stays on Your Device)

When you customize your time zones, your preferences are stored strictly in your browser's LocalStorage:

• Your Itinerary Places: Saved city/airport keys so you don't have to re-enter them on your next visit.
• Display Settings: Selected reference row, 12h/24h time format, theme (dark/light), and text size.
• Offline Cache: Service Worker precaching of static files (HTML, CSS, JS, and transit guides) for offline flight use.

This data remains in your sole possession on your local hardware and is never transmitted over the internet to us.

3. Zero Personal Data Collected

We do not collect, monetize, or sell:

• No personal identity details (no names, emails, phone numbers).
• No travel reservation records (no PNRs, booking codes, ticket numbers).
• No GPS coordinates or physical location tracking.
• No behavioral advertising profiling or third-party marketing trackers.

4. Maps Navigation & Outbound Links

When you select "Open in Google Maps" or "Apple Maps" from airport transit tip cards, the navigation request is handled directly by your browser or native operating system app. GateHop does not intercept or track destination coordinates.

5. User Rights & Data Deletion (GDPR & CCPA)

Under GDPR and CCPA, users have rights regarding personal information. Because GateHop holds zero personal records on remote servers, your data is already fully sovereign. You can immediately delete all stored rows and preferences at any time by clearing your browser cache/storage or resetting rows in the app.

6. Community Feedback & Open Transparency

GateHop operates purely within your local browser sandbox with zero server-side telemetry or tracking. We maintain a public community repository for user feedback, airport transit data suggestions, and issue tracking: github.com/jviewes-commit/gatehop-feedback.
